WB Kids Programs

At WB we have 4 Bases from which we teach kids lessons: Creekside, Village, Blackcomb base and Base 2. You will be assigned to a Home Pod in one of these bases, but will move around the school during the year.

This section is to help orient you the the names and programs, plus a little help on how to succeed in each area :).

Meeting Location

Good morning! We will be meeting at 8am in front of the Village location of Whistler kids (attached to the Whistler Gondola in the village).

Please have your uniform and ski / ride equipment on and be ready for work (not finishing a coffee or breakfast :)).

Child Check In

There are a few things we do to welcome children into our programs and ensure they have a safe and fun day with us.

Kindervests:

Kindervests are zip up vests that we will give all children 6 years and younger to wear over their snow jacket. They come in different sizes so they can fit comfortably. You will see a yellow handle on the back of the jacket. This handle is used by some lift staff to help pull a child onto a chairlift. They are not meant to be used to pick children up or to hold on to while skiing.

flaik GPS

All children in our programs will wear a red flaik unit so that we can see where they are on the mountain at all times. These units are fantastic in case a child gets separated from their group. Please record all the flaik numbers for your group at the start of the day by recording it on the class card and taking a picture. This way you have it handy in case anyone is separated. flaik is also great for parents; they can log in at the end of the day and replay the routes their child took during the day. If you are new to using flaik, ask a fellow employee at morning meeting for help.

Allergies:

We using green lanyards for children with allergies. Please fill out the appropriate information on a green tag, attach it to a green lanyard, and hang it around the child's neck ensuring it is visible on the outside of the child's ski/ride gear.
